Our New Corporate Mascot/Delivery Vehicle

We're proud to introduce our latest acquisition...

A 1965 customized "Woody" Volkswagen Beetle...
which I came across by chance-occurrence on July 31, 1999,
in Pine River, Minnesota (of all places!) and fell *immediately*
in love with--being an old surfer and all. (You see, you never
really stop being a surfer...) So I brought her home! Purrs
like a kitten...ran great for the whole three-hour drive
back to the Twin Cities from Northern Minnesota.

It actually reminded me of my first car, as a
senior in high school in California...a customized
yellow 1950 Ford woody (with a Corvette engine,
chrome wheels, lakes pipes, and big slicks on
the back--but that's another story.)

This one's a lot mellower...as I am...and cuter (which
I'm not). For you car freaks, it has only 65,000 actual miles and
features the original VW rear engine, chassis, and partial body, plus the
original interior--customized, of course, with a wood-strip headliner and vinyl
roof, just like the popular 1940's-vintage Ford woodies. The special hood
adds to that same look. It's in great shape--virtually spotless,
and even has new tires. It was a kit car of some popularity in
California, where there are undoubtedly still many driving
around. (I'm told the car would be worth 2-3 times
there...and God only knows what on eBay!)

It spent its entire life in California till the last couple
of years, when its owner/builder brought it back to Minnesota
for his daughter. In fact, it still sports a special "California Historical
Vehicle" license plate that stays with the car. (It's also registered
as a "collector car" in Minnesota.)

Someday I may take it back to California to be my "beach car"...
my "GT&A West" delivery vehicle. First, though, I guess I have to get a
beach house! Meantime, it'll be in storage here during the winter.
